Villa Alma Domus
One of the oldest vaulted houses on the Amalfi Coast, restored into a one-of-a-kind residence
The House
Alma Domus is one of the oldest and most fascinating vaulted houses on the Amalfi Coast. Inhabited over the centuries by noble Amalfi families and by farmer-sailors, it has been handed down to the present day with all the charm that only time can give.
Documented since the 1200s and substantially untouched since the 1800s, the house was brought back to life by a conservative restoration begun in 2018, strongly desired by the owner Alma Porpora under the artistic direction of architect Laura Einaudi. Today it is a holiday residence unlike any other in Amalfi, where ancient architectural spaces meet contemporary comfort.
Outdoor Living
Outside, a stone hydromassage tub with three hydro stations and a water blade looks out over the sea — the quiet heart of the property, surrounded by the terraced landscape of the coast.
The house sits outside the chaos of the centre, yet close enough to reach it in ten minutes.
